The following is a selection of some of the Club’s past events. Events are a very important part of the Club’s activities since they help to further its conservation activities by raising its overall profile and are the ideal way for members to get together, discuss their common interests and enjoy themselves.
An inaugural Conservation Symposium in Portsmouth Monday 11th December 2017
The 1805 Club with the National Museum of The Royal Navy hosted an innovative conservation symposium on Monday 11 December 2017 at HM Naval Base Portsmouth. The museum’s historic naval base and unique collection of ships was the perfect setting for the occasion.
We hope that this will be the first of a series of symposiums during the coming years connected with the very important subject of conservation and restoration. Full details will be posted in 2018.

The annual parade took place in Trafalgar Square, London. Vice Admiral Ben Kay was the Reviewing Officer.
The 1805 Club's Trafalgar Dinner in Portsmouth Saturday 21st October 2017
The Club’s Trafalgar Dinner was held on Saturday, 21 October 2017 – Trafalgar Day! The venue is HMS Nelson Wardroom, Portsmouth.
Guest of Honour was Vice Admiral Ben Key CBE, Fleet Commander Royal Navy, and the Pre-Dinner Talk was given by Hugh Boscawen.

Wreath laying at St Paul’s Cathedral Friday 20th October 2017
The wreath laying this year was held at 11:00 hrs.
AGM and Members’ Day Saturday 13th May 2017
The AGM and Members’ Day was held in the East India Club, St. James Square, London.
The Cecil Isaacson Memorial Lecture entitled: ‘The War in the Mediterranean 1793–1815 & the birth of Modern Combined Operations’ was given by Gareth Glover in the afternoon.
Both events were very much enjoyed by all members who attended. Next year’s AGM and Members’ Day has been provisional booked for Saturday the 12th May 2018. Venue to be named later in the year.
Wirral Weekend – Emma Hamilton Friday 21st April 2017 – Saturday 22nd April 2017
A full and interesting weekend to celebrate the life of Emma Hamilton was enjoyed by many 1805 Club members and their guests.
