Date of death: 19 July 1832 Place of death: Ham Street, Plymouth
Note: Records show that Sir Israel Pellew K.C.B. was buried at Charles Church, Plymouth on 26 July 1832 (Burial Register in Plymouth & West Devon Record Office). On the night of 21 March 1941 the church was gutted by fire in one of the heaviest air raids on Plymouth of WW2. It remained in a derelict state until 1957 when it was decided it would not be rebuilt. The ruins still stand as a memorial, but the graveyard has now gone, and the remains buried there were removed and re-interred at Efford Cemetery. However there is no record of Sir Israel Pellew’s remains being included among those which were removed. Therefore it must be concluded that there now remains no visible record on the ground of the grave.
