Description: A black marble sarcophagus, surmounted by a gilded viscount’s coronet placed on a red cushion. It stands on a rectangular black base with white decoration, on the south side of which is inscribed in gold the words: HORATIO.VISC.NELSON The whole stands on a large rectangular stone base, inside which the coffin is laid.
Sculptor: Benedetto da Rovezzano (who originally created the sarcophagus for Cardinal Wolsey). Dimensions: Base: 320 cm × 219 cm. Height: 320 cm.
