Providence Cruise and Dinner - Saturday, 14th August 2021

The American branch of The 1805 Club have organised a Saturday afternoon cruise aboard the Tall Ship Providence on 14th August 2021. The ship departs the Alexandria VA dock at 3:00pm and returns at 5:00pm.  The cost is $45.00 per person.  If you would like to participate, please register yourselves at the following link:    https://www.showpass.com/afternoon-cruise-30/ Because there is a limit to the number of persons the ship can accommodate, please make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure a space aboard.

During this 2-hour cruise, a historical interpreter will present a brief overview of the history of the ship and be available to answer your questions. You will also have an opportunity to visit the ship’s hold and Captain’s Cabin. The ship will also provide a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage and salty snack. The above link provides additional information, including the location of Providence on the Alexandria VA waterfront.

In addition to the 2 hour cruise aboard Providence, we will also have the opportunity of dining together afterwards at the Chart House Restaurant (https://www.chart-house.com/location/chart-house-alexandria-va/), a short walk from the Providence dock.  We have met at this restaurant a number of times before, the last being in February 2020 to commemorate the Battle of Cape St. Vincent.  We will gather there at 6:00pm.  Everyone may order from the general menu, with payment being via separate cheques.

Please contact Pete Stark, Hon US Secretary, the.americas.membership.secretary@1805club.org  to let him know if you wish to wish to attend as follows:-

  • Let him know when you have registered for the cruise.  He would appreciate your doing this as soon as possible to ensure a space.
  • Let him know also if you plan to attend the dinner afterwards, so that he can make the appropriate number of reservations.

If you wish to attend only the cruise, or only the dinner, that is perfectly fine as well, just let Pete know.

Please contact Pete if you have any questions.  He looks forward to seeing many of you on 14th August 2021.
