Events and social activities for 2009/10
Saturday, 25th July 2009 - The 250th Anniversary of laying down of the keel of HMS Victory
The programme for the day includes an extensive tour of the Historic Dockyard, a seminar on the construction of HMS Victory and a lunch. This should be a fascinating insight into the building of HMS Victory and the work of the dockyard.

September 2009 - John Jervis
A weekend in Stone, Staffordshire is In the planning stages to visit to Staffordshire, John Jervis country, including an overnight in Stone and a private visit to the Council collection of Jervis artefacts and memorabilia. Also included will be a behind the scenes look at the wonderful Naval collection at the Wedgwood Museum and dinner in Anson's home at Shugborough. Probable dates will be September 11/12th/13th or a week later. More in the next issue of the Kedge Anchor.
Saturday, 17th October 2009 - The annual Trafalgar Night Dinner at Newhouse
The Annual Trafalgar Night Dinner will again be held at Newhouse. We are grateful to June and George Jeffreys for kindly allowing us to continue to hold this wonderful club event in their beautiful home. The cost is not yet finalised but I am hoping to keep it the same as or very close to the last two years' price of £75 per person. The final details will be posted in the summer Kedge Anchor with a booking form. Places will be held on a first come first served basis.
March 5/7th 2010 - Collingwood Bicentenary in Newcastle and the North East
This will be a major club event celebrating the life and contribution to the Georgian Navy made by Cuthbert Collingwood on the bicentenary of his death in 1810. Club member, Mark Thorburn, with Max Adams and great support from many local organizations will be arranging an absolutely splendid weekend. This is a not to be missed event so put it in your diaries right away.
Our thanks go to the Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, Newcastle City Council, The Lord Mayor of Newcastle, St Nicholas Cathedral, Tyne and Wear Museums, The Northern Sinfonia and many others for their enthusiastic cooperation and valuable input to this 1805 Club initiative. More news soon.
