The conference fee, which includes coffee, buffet lunch and tea, is £50.00.
The conference will cover the political background to the Anson voyage,
the events that occurred during the voyage, including the wreck of HMS Wager
and its consequences, the capture of the Spanish galleon, the Spanish
involvement and the medical and administrative reforms introduced after Anson
was appointed as First Lord of the Admiralty in 1757. The conference will be accompanied by a
small exhibition of books maps, charts and artefacts relating to the Anson voyage.
